Hello Reader,

Today I'd like to share one of my favorite videos with Elizabeth Gilbert. She talks about going on a journey where fear is invited.

"The dream is that we will somehow create a life without fear. And that's just nonsense."

-Elizabeth Gilbert

Like it or not, fear is a part of the creative process. In other words, it's normal for creative people to feel frightened.

  • What if I mess up?
  • What if I'm not good enough?
  • What if this is a total waste of time and money?
  • What if I'm too old?
  • What if no one likes it? What if they don't like me?
  • What if they do like it and I won't be able to paint another one as good?

Instead of letting fear take control of your creative time, follow Elizabeth's advice and put fear in the backseat of the minivan.

Hi Reader, I hope you are doing well. Spring is just around the corner, which is always a wonderful feeling. Thank you for being a loyal follower of my art and this newsletter. Hi Reader, The May Co-Create Sessions are starting tomorrow, and I wanted to share with you why you may want to join us. These online sessions are a great opportunity to work on your creative projects in a supportive setting. We all know how hard it can be to find the time and focus to create, especially when there are so many distractions around us. Text messages, funny dog videos, and laundry distract us from meaningful time spent on our creativity. This meaningful time is what Cal Newport...

Hi Reader, Hope you're doing well and enjoying the arrival of spring! Even though it's been pretty chilly and rainy where I am, I've managed to sneak in a few sketching sessions at my local boatyard. Since the weather hasn't been too cooperative, I've had to get creative with my sketching spots. I've found a few spots where I can paint from the back of my car, using the hatchback door as an umbrella for when it's lightly raining. And on those super rainy days, I've resorted to sketching from...
